About Jeff Elliott

Jeff Elliott is a multi-instrumentalist from the Houston area with a degree in Music Performance from Southwestern University. His primary instruments are violin, drums, guitar, and bass. Starting on violin and drums at the age of 4, he has cultivated a lifelong love of all styles of music, and has been an active performer since joining his first youth symphony in Houston at the age of 10. Since then, he has been a member of many ensembles, including classical symphonies and chamber groups, jazz ensembles, rock and country bands, as well as musical theatre. He is also an active arranger/composer and producer, usually working on several projects at any given time.

Jeff is a member of the Central Texas Philharmonic, in which he has performed as both a soloist (on violin and accordion) and a section violinist since joining the group over 10 years ago. He is also an active studio session musician, contributing to hundreds of recordings over the last decade.

Jeff’s teaching philosophy centers on cultivating a passion for music-making and building on his students’ individual strengths. While he values solid technical fundamentals, he encourages students to pursue their own musical interests – he can even cultivate their abilities to improvise on their instruments! Jeff gives his students the tools to master the technical aspects of music so that they can find their own style and pursue their own paths with confidence and integrity.
