About Eun Joo Fierro
Born in Seoul, Korea, Eun Joo Fierro has been playing piano since the age of six. She came to the United States with her family at 15. She earned her Bachelors mu Music, Masters of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of Texas at Austin where she studied with Dr. Frank Speller. She was an award recipient of the Se-Kwang Piano Competition and the William Hall Organ Competition. While Eun Joo was working on her masters’ degree, she was invited to perform Saint-Saens Organ Symphony which was broadcasted live on KMFA Classical 89.5 under the direction of Maestro Peter Bay, conductor off the Austin Symphony Orchestra. Eun Joo started teaching piano and music theory in 1997. She has been a member of Music Teachers National Association since 2010 and is currently active member of Austin District Music Teachers Association.
Eun Joo’s Students regularly participate in local and national competitions and festivals plus won many awards. She specializes in MTNA theory, ABRSM theory and instrumental performance exams. Eun Joo is organist at University United Methodist Church since July, 2021. She performs frequently in several venues including Lenten Organ Series, Christmas concerts and solo recitals in area churches. She also has her YouTube channel of her solo performances on her Hauptwerk organ.
In 2016 and 2019, Eun Joo performed concerts on most prestige organs at St. Salzburg Cathedral and St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Austria, St. Salavatore Church Charles Bridge in Prague, St. Mary’s Cathedral and St. Patrick’s College in Ireland and the Church of Holy Rude in Stirling, Scotland. She regularly works as collaborative pianist for many high school choirs and bands in Leander, Austin and Hays school districts. In her free time, she enjoys going on adventures with her 3-year old son, Diego and her husband, Andy.
