About Cristian Martinez Vega

Cristian D. Martínez Vega is a multifaceted professional with a background in music, education, research, and technology. He holds a PhD in Music History from the University of Auckland and a master’s in Musicology and Violin Performance from the University of Oklahoma. His career spans diverse fields such as digital marketing, metadata management, data quality assurance, e-commerce, socio-politics, and academic research.

As a bilingual industry expert, Cristian excels in creative marketing strategies, using his academic and artistic background to develop engaging and impactful ideas. He has a deep appreciation for global cultures, having performed on international stages and conducted research on topics such as the organization and migration of musicians to Latin America. Cristian is active in academic circles, having been a member of the Society for American Musicology and the Society for American Music since 2020. He has served as chair of the Ludomusicology Study Group of the AMS and has contributed to journal articles and conference papers. Musically, Cristian has studied chamber music performance at Wichita State University under the tutelage of Dr. Leonid Shukaev and has performed with several orchestras. He has collaborated with international orchestras and festivals, including performing with the World Orchestra at the 2019 World Congress on Information and Technology. He has received numerous accolades, including the OCC Young Artist Competition and the Little Rock Music Coterie awards.

Martinez Vega is currently endowed by the Marsden Fund of the Royal Society of New Zealand (Te Apārangi) to assist in research on projects involving the private musical life in Europe, c.1790-c.1830. He is open to connecting and sharing stories, inviting others into the conversation, and productive discussion of ideas about music and society
