About Charles Bonnefon
At the age of 17, Charles began his music tutelage in London, England, where he received a scholarship at the Royal College of Music. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance and Teaching. His encounter with pianists Dalton Baldwin and Roger Vignoles led him to attend a postgraduate course in Piano Accompaniment at the Conservatoire of Marseille, France, his hometown. Charles spent the next several years playing with singers mostly in the Operatic, French Melody and Lieder repertoire. At the same time he founded a society devoted to concert management, helping young classical musicians find performance opportunities after graduation. This led to hundreds of concerts over several years, helping young musicians begin with their professional integration. Charles has recently settled down in Austin with his family, where he has happily traded his Mediterranean salty waters with the quaint deer-friendly creeks of Lake Travis. He’s very excited to return to private teaching, utilizing multiple styles and decades of experience in every lesson.
