At Northwest School of Music, we offer private music lessons for children and adults at our well lit and spacious studio. Our experienced instructors help students reach their musical goals while — most importantly — having fun!
Our high-end studio welcomes students to learn a variety of instruments, including piano, voice, guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, violin, cello, and flute. We pair modern tools and teaching techniques with a commitment to helping our students have fun, discover their creativity, and develop a love of music.

Most qualified and diverse teaching faculty
We attract the best music teachers in Northwest Austin the area. Our instructors are caring, patient, talented, and knowhow to work with students to create a fun & engaging environment. All of our instructors are experts on their instruments and either hold, or are pursuing, degrees in music and all have had prior experience teaching music. We also value performance experience – several of our staff either have experience on stage or actively perform in addition to teaching.
How often will I come for a lesson?
All of our lesson plans are for weekly lessons. Most students come for a 30-minute private lesson. However, 45-minute and 60-minute weekly lessons are also available for students looking for more dedicated time with their instructor.
What styles of music can you teach?
Our teachers come from a wide variety of different musical backgrounds. If you are an intermediate-advanced student that desires to learn a specific style, please let us know. We can direct you to the teacher best suited to your stylistic preferences. All teachers are qualified to teach a well-rounded curriculum of basic music to beginners.
Is there a registration or enrollment fee?
No, we do not charge an enrollment fee, administration fee, or office fee.
Where do the lessons take place?
All of our lessons take place on-location at 8863 Anderson Mill Rd, Ste 114, Austin, TX 78729. Northwest proudly serves students from Central and Northwest Austin, including Brushy Creek, Anderson Mill, Bailey Oaks, Great Hills and many more. We also have students from as far as Dripping Springs – all are welcome at Northwest!
