About Max Tafoya
Max Tafoya (b. 2003) is a passionate piano player of 17 years, classical composer, and music educator. After playing classical piano for 10 years, his love of music inspired him to become a composer in his freshman year of high school, and a music theory enthusiast. Max has written piano transcriptions for many of his piano students, and is thrilled to teach students anything they wish to learn, including beyond the classical repertoire. Max composes classical music, and is currently enrolled in a rigorous curriculum that includes the top level of music theory, sight-reading, and ear training, all of which is reflected in his teaching style. He has been commissioned to write pieces for Heritage High School in Brentwood, as well as the University of Pacific College in Stockton. His pieces are frequently performed at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where Max is earning his Master’s Degree in Composition.
