About Lauren Gatzka
Lauren Gatzka is a dedicated vocal and piano instructor with over a decade of teaching experience. Throughout her career, she has helped students of all ages build confidence, develop strong technique, and discover a love of music. Known for her patient and supportive approach, Lauren specializes in tailoring lessons to each student’s individual learning style, including those with unique educational needs. She also promotes healthy vocal technique in each lesson, helping students learn how to care for their voices while surfing the musical stratosphere.
Lauren holds a B.A. in English Literature with a minor in Vocal Performance from Southern New Hampshire University, where she graduated cum laude. She also earned an A.A. in Vocal Performance from Diablo Valley College. Though she began as an instrumentalist, and started performing in fourth grade band, she always found an opportunity to sing in school. With her love of musical theatre, she became the youngest in her high school’s history to hold a lead role in a school musical and was also unanimously selected by the graduation committee to sing the National Anthem at her graduation. After high school, she continued on to study opera in college and trained as a dramatic coloratura soprano. She later trained professionally in musical theatre technique, working with Rachel Gold, who is also a performer on Broadway.
Whether working with beginners or advanced performers, Lauren is passionate about helping every student expand their skills, embrace performance, and grow as musicians.
