About Julian Higares
Julian is a teacher that focuses more on the spirit of music (feeling the music) rather than the mechanical aspects( reading notes) . He believes etiquette (how you handle and hold your instrument ) as well as trying to get your “ musical ear “ in tune (playing by ear) are the key to become a successful musician in any instrument. After a year of lessons with Julian, your child will be able to listen to any song and play it or “ play by ear” with no prep time, be able to jam along to any chord progression, and have the confidence and knowledge to write and compose their own music. His first job as a guitar instructor was back in 2012 right after graduation where he taught at a studio in Manteca CA known as GK Music and was put in charge of creating “project Bands” for students where they would learn how to operate and perform as a band. Julian has performance experience at various venues throughout the Bay Area and the west coast playing with his band the Pretty Uglies and his solo project A Play on Words.
