About Gary Allen
Gary Allen is an accomplished musician, and a teacher of the acoustic and electric guitar, as well as the ukulele. He is also a published songwriter, and a member of ASCAP, Inc. Gary comes from a very musical family. Both his father and mother played the guitar, and were songwriters. His paternal grandmother was a church pianist/organist for many years. One of his sisters sang lead in the choir, and recorded several songs. Three of his uncles on his mothers side played the concertina, accordion, and bass guitar in polka bands in his native state of Wisconsin for many years. He also has several other relatives that are musically inclined. Gary has over 20 years experience playing and recording music in both studio and live settings. He has over 5 years experience teaching and coaching students in recital settings, both live and online. Gary makes it a point that all of his students learn to read music. He teaches them open chords, barre chords, timing, chord structure, modulation, transposing chords, and songwriting skills. He takes pride in his abilities to teach the gift of music to all of his students, and to see them blossom into talented musicians, in their own right.
