About Darren Wirth
Darren Wirth is an Aurora, Colorado native; he holds a Bachelor’s degree in piano from Indiana University Bloomington and a Master of Music from the University of Denver. Darren has been a prize winner in numerous piano competitions, including the International Piano Odyssiad, the Symphony in the Valley Concerto Competition, the International Duo Piano Competition, the Seattle International Piano Competition Virtuoso Festival, the Derek H. Jones, MD Piano Concerto Competition, and the International Clara Schumann Competition.
His compositions have won awards and performances around the world including in the AN ART ARTISTRY “The Contemporary Piano” composition competition in Greece, the Golden Key International Piano Composition Competition in Vienna, in New York and at Harvard University as part of the Composer’s Voice Concert Series, in Minnesota with the Amadeus Chamber Symphony, in Singapore with the Ensemble de la Belle Musique, in The Netherlands with the Dutch Viola Society, and in Belgium with Prima La Musica. He is featured on New Choral Voices Vol. 6 on Ablaze Records.
In addition to a love of classical music, Darren has a strong affinity for musical theatre and has played the piano in over 50 musical theatre productions. Darren enjoys teaching students of all ages and strives to guide each student to find their unique voice through music.
