About Mindy
Mindy was born and raised in Fairfield, CA. She began learning piano at the age of five, and and was involved in band throughout middle and high school. Although she started out learning classical music, she began learning to play jazz and pop music in middle school. In high school, she ran clarinet sectionals, standing percussion practices, and band council meetings. She performed clarinet in the All-Northern Honor Band and had the opportunity to perform piano at a Key Club charity event. She also accompanied a colleague during her violin audition at University of the Pacific.
She believes that learning and playing music can be a great creative outlet for anybody as well as a good way to relax and relieve stress. Music has made an incredible impact on her life and she is excited to teach others and share her passion for music.
I once even emceed for my school’s band review!
I recently graduated from UC Davis majoring in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior and minoring in Chinese. During college, I drove city buses for two years as a part time job. I’d love to share my band and/or bus experiences and advice so don’t feel shy and come say hi!
