About Anna Kates
Anna began her musical journey on piano at the age of five, expanding her skills to guitar in middle school and finally landing on upright bass in high school, which has since become her primary instrument.
Her performance background spans a wide range of genres, including punk, bluegrass, country, rock, funk, and her personal favorite, jazz. Anna has performed in various jazz combos and big bands, with gigs ranging from private galas and weddings to jazz clubs and open mics.
Since high school, she has been teaching music lessons, driven by a passion for sharing the joy of music. In her lessons, Anna focuses on helping students learn songs they are passionate about while equipping them with the tools to become self-sufficient, lifelong learners on their instruments.
