About Taylor Ferguson
Taylor Ferguson is a musician, songwriter, and recording engineer with over 20 years of performance experience and more than a decade of full-time teaching experience. His musical journey began at age five on the piano, where he received classical training and developed a particular appreciation for the works of Beethoven, Chopin, and Debussy. In addition to his classical roots, Taylor is equally passionate about rock guitar, drawing inspiration from bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. He also enjoys producing music in his home studio, recording his own music, in addition to collaborating with others to bring their musical visions to life.
Throughout the years, Taylor has taught music to students of all ages and abilities. He takes pride in teaching the practical application of music theory and ear training, helping students uncover the patterns and structures within music. While he loves introducing students to artists who inspire him, including The Beatles, Black Sabbath, and Radiohead, his primary goal is to support students in learning and enjoying the music they love.
Taylor performs in several Texas-based bands, including Hydra Melody, Pink Apocalypse, and Day Friend. His band experience has led him on national tours alongside artists such as Third Eye Blind, Everclear, and Cartel.
He attended high school at San Antonio’s Northeast School of the Arts (NESA), a renowned magnet arts program, and went on to earn a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin.
