About Douglas Blatt
Douglas Blatt is a drummer, musician, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in Austin, Texas. He studied Jazz Performance in drum set at The University of Texas at Austin’s Butler School of Music, where he developed a strong foundation in jazz, rock, pop, ensemble playing, improvisation, and musical communication.
Douglas has performed in a wide range of live settings, including jazz ensembles, original rock bands, national tours, and major Austin music events. In addition to drumming, he writes, records, and produces music through his indie project, Keliko, giving him a well-rounded understanding of rhythm, songwriting, arrangement, and how drums support the bigger picture of a song.
As a teacher, Douglas is passionate about helping students build confidence, creativity, and a strong musical foundation. His lessons are structured, encouraging, and personalized to each student’s goals, whether they are learning their first beat, improving technique, playing along to favorite songs, or developing the confidence to perform with other musicians.
