About Blake Jurasin

Blake’s musical journey began at age 8 in New Orleans, where he picked up the alto saxophone for his school’s band program. From there, he jumped around from Alto, Tenor, and Baritone saxophones, mellophone and French horn in concert and marching bands. But ultimately, the guitar stole his heart when he started listening to bands like Green Day, My Chemical Romance, and Avenged Sevenfold. He performed in his high school jazz band and received the Semper Fidelis Award for Excellence in Musicianship, which later contributed to his scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.

During his Berklee career, Blake performed with many ensembles ranging in genres from jazz, funk, rock, metal, blues, and more! In 2015, he was the headlining guitarist for Berklee’s Rock and Pop Guitar Night, performing his “Mega Man 2 Medley” and his original song “Next Best Thing.” Blake graduated Cum Laude later that year with a Bachelor’s in Music focusing on Music Business.

Since graduating, Blake moved to Austin and continues to perform in rock, country, gospel, pop, jazz, and blues groups. His main projects as of 2024 are:

  • Trashy Annie – lead guitar and vocalist
  • His self-titled project (Blake Jurasin)
  • Bethany Becker Band – lead guitar, vocals, production

Blake’s main goal for his students is to provide them with the fundamentals of music while teaching them about their preferred genres. To Blake, music lessons should be fun first and should push students to exceed their initial expectations of themselves.
