About Ben Hulan
Ben grew up singing in church and playing music in school. He began studying trumpet when he was 8 and continued through college, adding guitar in the 10th grade, then ukulele and mandolin. Ben studied theater in college and spent several years pursuing an acting career and working as a high school drama teacher before his first son was born and he decided to learn to code. Working building websites didn’t leave him as much time to do theater but Ben was able to record a few CDs and play in several bands over the years.
Ben enjoys folk, rock, swing, reggae, indie, bluegrass and traditional Irish music but his deepest passion is for songwriting and he believes that learning songs from a variety of different genres is the best way for a musician to find his or her own musical voice. Whether you’re just getting started or whether you’ve been making music for a while, Ben would love to help you achieve your musical goals.
