Music Explorers in Lake Travis

Tia Patel, from Niceville, Florida, has been involved in music since childhood, with experiences in choirs, dance, and various musical programs shaping her path. She studied music at Florida State University, initially majoring in Music Therapy before switching to a Bachelor of Arts in Voice. At FSU, she performed with the University Singers and Chamber Singers, which deepened her passion for collaborative music.

Although trained in Classical Music, Patel enjoys pop, R&B, and contemporary genres, finding inspiration in artists like SZA, Kehlani, and Ariana Grande. She loves teaching music to mentor young musicians, using their favorite songs to teach vocal techniques and build confidence. Patel values the reciprocal learning that comes from teaching and looks forward to growing together with her students.
