Doug Frazier

Doug Frazier (Mr. Doug) has been a music educator since 2005, helping students of all ages and backgrounds achieve their goals and build their self esteem. He has a background in Early Childhood education, as well as years of professional experience teaching one-on-one or group lessons.
Benji Pedraza
Guitar, Voice, Ukulele, Piano, Bass, Violin, Logic + ProTools
In addition to guitar, violin, voice, ukulele, keyboard; Benji also teaches music theory, songwriting, and audio production! He started off on violin at age 10 and then wanted to know more and more from there! This is Benji’s 11th year of teaching music lessons and he claims he teaches with a “research based approach.”

Hailing from the swamps of Southeast Texas, Nick has been performing, composing, and teaching music professionally for over 20 years.
Reyna Johnston

Reyna began her musical journey at the age of 9 with the violin. She is classically trained and enjoys playing classical and jazz. Not getting enough of music, Reyna found a love for guitar and picking it up to play any song she hears.
Alec Woodruff

Alec has been playing and learning a variety of string instruments for 20 years now, starting on the viola in elementary school and continuing through college where he studied the viola at TX State under the guidance of Dr. Ames Asbell, and played in Texas State’s orchestra.
Elliot Bender

Elliot arrived in Austin Texas in 2019 to submerge himself in a Mecca of world class musicians. His Music Teaching career started a year before his move and took off once he arrived.

Ben grew up singing in church and playing music in school. He began studying trumpet when he was 8 and continued through college, adding guitar in the 10th grade, then ukulele and mandolin.

Rob was introduced to the world of music performance at the age of 10 with a fortuitous introduction to a trombone, but met his true love two years later upon receiving a second hand electric bass as a Christmas present.
Josh Adams

Josh fell in love with music after hearing “Ticket to Ride” by the Beatles in fifth grade and starting playing music and writing songs shortly thereafter. He started performing in college and moved to Nashville shortly after he recorded his first album.

Leaf McFadden has been immersed in music and art from a young age. Throughout their upbringing, Leaf was an active participant in choir, show choir, band, musical theatre, and color guard. After teaching and leading the show choir club their senior year

Jonathan Portillo is an Austin-based jazz musician and educator. Hailing from Dallas TX, he graduated with a degree in Jazz Performance from Texas State University in 2022. He performs with several groups across the Austin and San Antonio area

Get StartedWhat Age Should My Child Start Guitar Lessons?
The minimum age recommended for starting guitar lessons is 5 years old. Due to the thickness of the strings and fine motor skills needed to play the instrument, we do not recommend starting guitar any younger. For younger students, we recommend learning either the ukulele.
The minimum age we recommend a student start ukulele lessons is 4 years old. For younger students, we recommend an intro to the music program. Starting age will largely depend on the student, some may need to wait longer than others depending on factors such as fine motor skills, attention span, and overall interest in music.
Do I Need a Guitar/Ukulele to Start the Lessons?
Yes, you will need a guitar/ukulele to start the lessons. Without a guitar/ukulele, you won’t be able to practice between lessons and make weekly progress. If cost is a concern, good beginner guitars are inexpensive and most music stores have a 30-day return policy if it’s not for you.
