Tom Navarro is Guitarist from Chicago, IL. Tom started playing guitar at age 15 and was heavily influenced by 80 rock guitarists Eddie Van Halen and Neil Schon of Journey among others. Tom attended Columbia College Chicago and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music focusing on guitar performance. While at Columbia Tom was involved in both the Jazz Guitar and Blues Ensemble. He currently is the lead guitarist in the variety cover band “Chix, Pix and Stix” and also in the lounge acoustic duet “Just the Two of Us”. Tom also is a volunteer instructor in the non-profit organization The Blues Kids Foundation run by Fernando Jones and also teaches Guitar Professionally. “My mission as an instructor is to create a fun learning environment that keeps the student engaged teaching songs and cool licks alongside music theory and guitar fundamentals all at a pace that is productive according to each individual student’s ability and music taste. I believe that the present time we are living in is the best as far as technology and resources available to be a successful music student. I have developed a program that is a culmination of years of learning on my own as well as formal music education.
