About Mara Harrington

Mara Harrington is a violin performer and pedagogue based in the Chicago area. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio,
Mara started playing the violin at age three and is a 2026 graduate of the Wheaton College Conservatory of music.
Mara is a dedicated violinist with a passion for sharing the joy of the violin in a variety of performance spaces including
but not limited to prisons, homeless shelters, churches, and high-class performance venues such as Carnegie Hall
where she performed with Keith and Kristyn Getty. Mara has also been featured as a soloist in local choir ensembles
such as the Young Naperville Ensembles and Downers Grove Choral Society. She has also been awarded first place
and an honorable mention in the Wheaton College Chamber Music Competition in 2024 and 2025 respectively.
Mara is passionate about helping each student find and express their unique musical voice. She is a Suzuki certified
teacher and enjoys working with students of all ages. Her lessons focus on finding joy in music while developing a
strong technical foundation. Mara works with each student to help them achieve their individual goals.
When Mara isn’t playing or teaching violin, she enjoys reading, baking, and yoga.
