About Catherine “Cate” Sulla
Catherine Sulla graduated from Millikin University in 2016 as a high talent scholarship holder. She is a dramatic soprano who trained classically in her undergraduate work, but has branched out into pop, musical theater, and belt.
She works with the Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts for their summer youth program as a vocal coach, and assists the music director at St Irene’s in Warrenville.
She teaches a healthy approach to singing with good posture, breath and relaxed sound production. She stays up to date with vocal acoustics and uses it with her students because she feels not every vocal issue can be solved by breath. Using auditory targets are a more organic way to help a student discover what the sensations of their unique instrument are!
Every student has a unique and beautiful instrument and it should be treated that way! No two students will have the exact same lesson structure because Catherine caters to each student’s strengths and opportunities. She treats her studio as a relaxed learning environment where she encourages her students to: have fun, make mistakes, and grow!
