About Anna Knight
Anna Knight (formerly Anna Iurchenko) is a classical pianist and private piano instructor based in Chicago. Originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine, she began studying piano at the age of six and later trained at the prestigious Vladimir Krainev State Music Lyceum under Svetlana Zakharova and Natalia Balycheva, graduating cum laude with a Diploma in Classical Piano Performance in 2022. After relocating to the United States due to the outbreak of war, she continued her training at the Music Academy of Chicago with renowned pianist Marta Aznavoorian. She later pursued undergraduate work in piano performance at Roosevelt University, studying under Dr. Winston Choi and earning placement on the Dean’s List.
Anna has performed in a wide range of settings throughout the Chicagoland area, including solo recitals, chamber collaborations, and multiple live broadcasts on WFMT Radio. Her recent appearances include a full solo concert in Ukrainian Village and performances organized by Art United, Inc. She has been recognized through numerous international and national competitions, earning top prizes from the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Competition, National Ukrainian Chamber Ensemble Competition, the National Ukrainian Accompanist Competition, the North International Music Competition, and the American Music Talent Competition.
Anna began teaching privately in 2023 and enjoys working with students of all ages and backgrounds, from young beginners to adult learners. Her lessons emphasize a balanced approach that includes technique, musical expression, ear training, theory, and healthy practice habits. She tailors the pace and repertoire to each student’s goals, ensuring both structure and enjoyment in the learning process.
