Music FunTime is an innovative and effective early childhood music program for kids aged 18 months to 7 years.
Unlike most preschool music programs that focus on music appreciation and movement, Music FunTime provides a structured classroom setting where students begin learning music theory and play the piano. Our program is based on extensive research, showing that children can learn to read music notation and symbols, play instruments, and enhance their understanding of math and science as they grow. This is more than a typical play group – it’s a comprehensive approach to early childhood music education.

What are Music FunTime Lessons?
These lessons were derived from Johns Hopkins Research exploring the magical connection between math & science through music for children 18 months through 7 years of age. Children learn to read music notation, rhythms and symbols, and play the instruments of their choosing.
Through small preschool and kindergarten group music classes in a classroom atmosphere, children use musical crafts, worksheets, games, and instruments in a fun exciting way to explore and nurture a strong musical foundation which becomes a way of life, thus, gaining all the benefits of uniting both hemispheres of the brain.

Your child is matching and comparing (through pitch, volume, and rhythm),
patterning and sequencing (through melody, rhythm, and lyrics), counting numbers, and adding. Add dramatic hand movements or clapping to the beat and you have created an entire package of learning rolled into one song.
Parents are constantly amazed at how their children develop these skills so quickly. Children become more confident, communicative and attentive, in addition to a growing appetite and appreciation for various types of music and musical instruments. They are trained and certified in early childhood educational methods and are also instrumentalists/vocalists/dancers who complement their teaching with musical or dance demonstrations.
Our classes are age-appropriate
Children develop at different rates, particularly when they are very young. The motor skills of a six-month-old are different from a 20 month old. Therefore, we structure our classes to specific age groups.

Our Mommy & Me class for parents and children, Pre-Ballet through Music FunTime!, Music & Dance Academy’s Early Childhood Program builds skills from one class to the next, ultimately preparing each child for success in instrumental instruction.
