About Keegan
Born in Downtown Orlando Florida, Keegan was introduced to music from a very early age. Throughout his childhood, he was introduced to rock and heavy metal through various forms of media. Now, as an adult, his passion has flourished.
Combining the fast and heavy sounds of rock and metal with the grooves of blues and jazz, Keegan has created his signature sound. His love for the progressive music scene has molded him into the musician he is today, and his passion for rock and roll fuels his musical abilities like a never-ending fire.
Keegan believes very strongly in finding joy and passion in the practice of music. His teaching style is very focused on the student’s playing preferences and his main goal is to have his students become the musicians they want to be. He is a very laid back person with a strong sense of humor and will often use these traits to make his students feel relaxed as he teaches them music.
Keegan has studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Full Sail University in Orlando Florida, and the Valencia College as well. He is proficient in both music theory as well as music production. He has grown in his childhood performing in local bands and playing original music as well as composing music for local stageplays and events. His primary instrument is the electric guitar but he is also able to play Drums, bass guitar, piano, and some vocals.
Keegan’s favorite bands and artists include Dream Theater, Haken, Pink Floyd, Animals as Leaders, Polyphia, Periphery, Gojira, Led Zeppelin, Devin Townsend, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Opeth, The Dear Hunter, Steve Vai, Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, Tesseract, Plini, Tool, Mastodon, Caligula’s Horse, John Petrucci, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Vola, and more.
