About Ashley Cintron

Ashley Cintron, choir director from Orlando, Florida has been studying music, singing, and performing since the young age of 8 years old. Following in the footsteps of their past choir directors and mentors, they attended Florida State University’s College of Music under the director of Dr. Judy Bowers and Dr. Kevin Fenton. They graduated with a bachelors degree in choral music education along with a minor in psychology.

On scholarship at Florida State University, they were placed in the voice studio of award-winning soprano, Dr. Marcia Porter. Under her wing, Ashley was able to learn and refine many different vocal techniques and styles, implementing those techniques in their teaching today. They also had the opportunity to tour with the Florida State University Singers, the top auditioned choir within the college of music. With this ensemble they were able to travel and perform across the country, and even venturing abroad to France performing at the Cathedral of Notre Dame and conducting a piece performed on the Arc de Triomphe.

Today, Ashley is the proud choir director at Poinciana high school and has been teaching in the public school setting for the past four years. As a performer and a teacher, they are experienced in multiple different genres such as jazz, gospel, musical theater, pop, and of course classical music. In addition to voice, they also have taught other instruments like piano, guitar, and even ukulele. They are extremely passionate about what they do and hope to be able to share their knowledge and love of music with their students!
