SUPPLIES AND BEHAVIOR
We love it when our students attend their lessons prepared with the following:
- Music Binder and Music
- Water
- Instrument
We appreciate when our students:
- Practice regularly
- Reflect and share their musical experiences with their teachers
- Are positive and open-minded about new ideas and experiences
STUDENT MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH REQUEST:
We believe in giving our students the best possible experience and education, and we cannot do this unless we are made aware of any physical, medical, mental, or behavioral conditions that a student may possess. When the teacher is aware of such conditions, they can instruct in a sensitive and informed way that will be more beneficial to the student. Additionally, our students’ safety is a top priority, and if we are not made aware of the symptoms and effects of students’ conditions, we cannot uphold the safety of the studio. We are not experts, but we do have expert references to assist and guide us.
Your information will only be shared between you, our General Manager and the private lesson instructor. Please contact our General Manager immediately if there is anything we should know about the student.
TUITION – CALENDAR-BASED BILLING
Clients are billed on the 1st of the month for the amount of lessons planned/on the schedule for that month. If a student cancels any of the lessons with more than 24 hours notice, the lesson credit will be deducted from next month’s bill.
If there is no future bill to credit the lesson towards, that credit will never expire and stay on the client’s account until they want to use it, or can be transferred to a family member or friend.
Make-up lessons are not required by our teachers, however, if you and your teacher can work out a make-up lesson time, you’re welcome to do so.
We offer a discounted rate for the first trial lesson to ensure it’s a good fit and that the student is ready to commit to weekly lessons.
Trial Lesson Pricing:
- 30 minute lessons – $25
- 45 minute lessons – $37
- 60 minute lessons – $50
Per lesson pricing
Main Line and Winter Park:
- 30 minute lessons – $40
- 45 minute lessons – $60
- 60 minute lessons – $80

Duplicate Billing: Only one party will be billed per student. Duplicate bills and split payments are the responsibility of the registering guardian.
CREDIT CARD OR ACH PAYMENT
All tuition payments are processed via credit card auto-debit on the first of each month. All payment information must be received upon registration to confirm a lesson time. It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to inform the school of any change to their credit card account number and/or expiration date. Any payments received after the 15th of the month will incur a $25 late fee.
WITHDRAWAL
Any student, new or established, can withdraw from the program at any time. If you need to discontinue, please contact your instructor as well as the office. All future lessons will be taken off the schedule and any remaining lesson credits will be available on your account for future use, or you may transfer those credits to a family member or friend.
TARDINESS POLICY
Music At Your Door observes standard music teacher waiting policies. If a student is 10 minutes late, the teacher is automatically dismissed and the lesson will be ineligible for a makeup.
Students who are running late should call their teacher to notify them.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
We look forward to a commitment from our students to attend each lesson at the time they have chosen, as this is the best way to positively progress in lessons.
In the event of any cancellation, please do the following:
To cancel a lesson with any amount of notice, please reach out to your teacher directly to notify them of the cancellation. Please also send an email to the office letting us know of the cancellation.
HEALTH NOTE: If a student is believed to have a contagious illness OR does not have the ability to sing or play their instrument due to illness, please cancel your lesson. If a student attends a lesson contagiously ill, the teacher may choose not to stay for the lesson. In such a case no credit will be issued for the missed lesson.
ADVANCED LESSON CANCELLATIONS (with at least 24 hours’ notice):
● For any lesson canceled with more than 24 hours’ notice, that lesson credit will be deducted from the next month’s bill
If a lesson is canceled with less than 24 hours notice, no credit will be issued and the student will still be responsible for paying for that lesson
TEACHER CANCELLATIONS:
● We are committed to teaching weekly lessons to all registered students at their regularly scheduled times. In the case of a cancellation by the teacher because of illness or an unforeseen conflict, that lesson credit will be deducted from next month’s bill
SCHOOL CALENDAR AND CLOSURES
Music At Your Door does not have any regularly scheduled closures. Please be sure you are communicating with your instructor about whether you will have lessons during holiday weeks, etc.
PUNCTUALITY
The Music At Your Door staff have a reputation for reliability and punctuality. Still, being in transit can vary the starting lesson time by a couple minutes on either side.
If the student is running late, please be sure to contact the teacher. Teachers will be dismissed from a lesson if the student is more than 10 minutes late without any communication.
