About Joe Gallo

Joe Gallo is a guitarist and composer from Baltimore, Maryland. Having studied classical, jazz, rock and blues in depth, Joe provides his students with a diverse and interconnected understanding of the instrument. His goal is to incorporate both classical technique and jazz improvisation in lessons, to give students a broader guitar education. Joe is a graduate of American University, where he studied with some of the best music faculty in the DC area and earned a degree in performance guitar.
While studying abroad in Austria, Joe received instruction from Armin Egger, one of the most acclaimed classical guitarists in Europe. Joe has also written, arranged, and performed his own music for jazz fusion ensembles, occasionally alternating between jazz and classical guitar in the same performance.
With more than 12 years of guitar experience, Joe has played at a variety of area venues, including Rams Head Live, DC 9, and the Recher Theater. Currently, Joe composes and collaborates with others in the pursuit of releasing an album.
