Hays Dowdy is a D.C.-based alternative indie songwriter and multi-instrumentalist performing live as a solo artist along with elite bands in International Musicians League.
Rooted in British Invasion rock, bluegrass, and trained in jazz, his approach focuses on an idiosyncratic pairing of lead guitars and baroque lyricism. He graduated from Montgomery College with an Associate of Arts degree in 2014.
Recruiting a high-energy live band to perform his unique blend of classically-fused pop-rock with agile grooves and angelic harmonies, his fourth single, The Ghost Before You (feat. Abby Sevcik), is out now. His debut album, Dreaming in Seven Senses, is out on January 10, 2025.
