About Patricia Saito
Patricia has a passion for helping students young or old discover the joy of expression that music brings. Her philosophy is that teaching should be tailored for the individual, focusing on finding the way they learn best, to achieve what they want to. Having worked primarily as a substitute piano teacher initially, she is experienced in adapting to all sorts of levels of experience and varied backgrounds of students. She is fluent in English and Mandarin, and intermediate in Japanese.
Patricia has 17 years of experience in piano, playing a variety of genres and styles. She earned a minor in music from San Jose State University, where she took lessons in solo piano & accompaniment, and participated in different ensembles and chamber groups.
Outside of classical music, Patricia also enjoys arranging & playing video game soundtracks, anime/J-pop music, and different genres of band/chamber music. Aside from piano, she has also played some percussion, brass, classical guitar, and flute. Outside of music entirely, she enjoys all sorts of arts and crafts, from origami to crochet.
