About Antonio Darias
Antonio Darias is a dedicated music educator and accomplished guitarist. He holds a Master’s Degree in Music from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, where he was a Henry Mancini Institute Fellow, and a Bachelor’s in Music Performance from Universidad de las Artes in Havana, Cuba.
As an instructor, Antonio has taught at institutions such as the University of Miami and the National School of Music of Cuba, offering courses ranging from Guitar and Ensemble to Guitar History and Methodology. He is passionate about helping students discover their own voice on their instrument, focusing on both technical excellence and expressive artistry.
Antonio is also an active performer. He has appeared as a soloist with the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, presented full-length recital programs in Havana and Miami, and won Second Prize at the Elias Barreiro Young Artist Competition, New Orleans International Guitar Festival in 2024.
His versatility extends beyond classical music, performing as a guitarist, guitarrón player, and vocalist with Mariachi ensembles across Florida. Fluent in English and Spanish, Antonio brings a multicultural perspective to his teaching, drawing on his expertise in classical guitar, Cuban, and Mexican popular music to create dynamic and engaging lessons for students of all ages.
