About Jimmy Minard
Jimmy is a recent graduate from Northern Illinois University with Bachelor’s Degrees in both Music Education and Trumpet Performance. Throughout his time at NIU, he trained under notable music figures, refining his trumpet, French horn, and band arranging skills. Actively engaged in Chicagoland’s music scene, Jimmy is both a teacher and performer. His standout performances include solos at Soldier Field in Chicago and Ford Field in Detroit with the Huskie Marching Band. Notably, his arrangements, such as renditions of songs like “Holding Out for a Hero” and “Africa,” have been showcased by the Huskie Marching Band and Huskie Pep Band. Jimmy believes that everyone will interact with music in their lifetime, and his goal is to help students understand how to create and appreciate music in their lives.
