About Dario Serrato
Hi there! My name is Darío Serrato, and I’m a music educator, bassist, and multi-instrumentalist originally from central Mexico and now based in Illinois. I specialize in early childhood music education, but I also teach students of all ages — from toddlers to teens, to adult beginners and advanced learners alike.
Over the past decade, I’ve taught in a wide range of educational and music institutions, including Centro Educativo María Montessori, Colegio Mi Pequeño Mundo, IT Innovation School, MC College and many more. My approach is joyful, structured, and student-centered — focused not only on building strong technical foundations but also nurturing creativity, self-expression, and emotional connection to music.
I’m also an active composer, arranger, and live performer, which allows me to bring a dynamic, up-to-date, and real-world perspective to each lesson. Whether we’re working on groove, technique, or stage presence, I aim to make music a meaningful and fulfilling part of each student’s life.
