About Alan Kinsey
Alan Kinsey has an in-depth and varied career in jazz performance and education, as demonstrated by his engagements with Bob Brookmeyer, Phil Woods, Lee Konitz, Gary Foster, and Frank Mantooth. Alan has also worked in concert with Tori Amos, Joel Grey, Maureen McGovern, the New York Voices, Rare Silk, Tony Bennett, Harry Connick Jr., and Toni Tenille. He has also performed with road productions of the shows 42nd St., Chicago, and Cats.
Alan, a native of Souderton, Pennsylvania, has completed both undergraduate and Master’s Level degrees from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, both in education and percussion performance. Alan holds a DA in jazz administration and percussion performance from the University of Northern Colorado.
He has been involved with the Elementary Band program in Gloucester Township, NJ, teaching 5th grade beginners on all band instruments for over 8 years. Alan is also advising several districts in New Jersey on percussion (marching and concerts) and jazz performance.
