Tuition for Private Lessons
Weekly recurring lessons are scheduled once a week at the same day and time with the same teacher and reserves the timeslot with the teacher for the entire month:
- Tuition for weekly recurring 30-minute lessons is a flat rate of $175/month, based on an average of 50 lessons per year at $42/lesson.
- $330/month for weekly recurring 60-minute lessons.
- Tuition for weekly recurring 30-minute PreK lessons is discounted to $155/month.
- Tuition for weekly recurring lessons is due on the 1st of each month.
If your schedule varies and you prefer scheduling lessons on a week-to-week basis instead, we offer one-time lessons for $44/lesson. One-time lessons can be scheduled within 14 days, but there is no guarantee the option you are interested in will be available each time.
Initial lessons can be scheduled as a 30-minute trial lesson discounted to $20, so a student can try a lesson and make sure it’s a good fit and something they want to continue doing before committing to more lessons.
A $30 sign-up fee per family is charged for private lesson customers when enrolling in lessons. This does not apply for students currently enrolled, or those who re-instate lessons within 4 months of de-enrollment.
Cancellations and Make-Up Policy
Once you have reserved a month’s lessons, we pay your teacher for all lessons. This includes lessons you are not able to attend for any reason including planned vacations and holidays. Lessons missed or cancelled by the student have no monetary value, cannot be used in place of regular tuition for future lessons, regardless of reason or advance notice of the cancellation, and are not credited or refunded if they are not rescheduled:
- You must cancel a lesson prior to 12:00 PM (noon) on weekdays (8:00 AM on Saturdays) on the day of the lesson, to receive a make-up credit. Make-up credits will not be provided for late cancellations.
- For one-time lessons only: these cannot be rescheduled unless cancelled at least one day in advance. One-time lessons must be rescheduled within 30 days.
- Make-up credits can be used to schedule lessons with any teacher, for any instrument, in timeslots cancelled by other students any month a student is enrolled in weekly recurring lessons.
- Make-up credits expire 1 year (365 days) after the lesson cancellation.
We encourage everyone cancel lessons they are unable to attend as soon as possible so other customers have the opportunity to schedule make-ups as far in advance as possible!
Lessons Cancelled by the School and Substitute Teachers
Tuition for lessons cancelled by Marlton Music Academy due to snow, instructor illness, or facility conflicts will be credited to your account and deducted from the next month’s invoice.
However, if a substitute teacher has been scheduled at the same day and time of the original lesson, a monetary credit will not be provided. You can still cancel lessons with a substitute scheduled and receive a make-up credit, but we strongly encourage students attend lessons with the substitute, as getting to know our other teachers will make it easier for you to schedule makeup lessons in the future. Receiving additional perspectives and education styles is beneficial for music education.
