Anthony Manoguerra is a multi-instrumentalist and educator new to the Northern Colorado area as of August 2023. Anthony holds a BA in Percussion Performance with a Jazz Performance focus from Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, and he is currently finishing his MM in Jazz Studies at the University of Northern Colorado. Anthony began studying music at six years old, first on the violin and then the drums. Over the last 18 years, he has dedicated his time to the study and practice of music, splitting his time between orchestras, big bands, small groups, string quartets, and musical theatre productions. While in school, Anthony has had the privilege of performing with several Grammy-winning artists, including Maria Schneider, Brian Lynch, Tierney Sutton, and Ryan Keberle.
Anthony has also performed with traveling Broadway musicians for the production of Hadestown, as well as a substitute percussionist for the Spokane Symphony Orchestra. Anthony continues to perform in a variety of musical contexts and genres, including jazz, folk, country, rock, funk, and classical. Primarily a drummer, Anthony strives to provide the same level of musicianship to his violin, piano, and vocal areas. He is dedicated to a holistic music pedagogy that focuses on listening skills and fundamental technique.
