About Corey Fant
Hi, my name is Corey Fant, and I am a composer, performer, producer, and recording engineer who moved to the Fort Collins area almost three years ago from Nashville. Beyond taking private lessons in guitar for a number of years from the wonderful Mike Hutchens in Nashville, I studied at Belmont University earning a Master of Science in Audio Engineering and The University of Alabama earning an undergraduate degree in Music Composition. As a composer I have written works for numerous ensembles from orchestras, large ensembles, choirs, quartets, duos, solo instruments, pipe organ, electro acoustic music, electronic music, and music for stage and dance that have been performed around the US and Internationally.
I have been very lucky to have wonderful teachers and mentors in my life who not only deeply inspired me and my music but also my teaching style. My focus as a teacher is to not only help all my students find and achieve their goals and abilities as musicians but focus on having fun, learning together, and gaining curiosity in the arts. Music is something that is for everyone to have in their life. Whether you want to be a professional performer, composer, or just enjoy playing for yourself it is all equally important and I want to help everyone that I can and be a positive force in their musical journey.
When I am not busy with music and have some free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, playing board games, paddle boarding, hiking, and hiding from the cold weather by the fire with a new book or record.
