We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach. Each student is a unique person with different goals, background, learning style, and more. We make it a priority to get to know you or your child personally and find out what you would like to learn in your lessons. A nine year old student starting music lessons for the first time will have a much different course of study than a forty-two year old who studied piano when they were younger. The goal of Loveland Academy of Music is to instill and foster a deep love of music, and to help you develop skills in a fun and interactive way so that you can start creating music on your own! You get to study the musical styles that YOU enjoy, in a format that helps you retain and move forward. Our mission is to find what makes you come alive!
We welcome all aspiring musicians, from beginners all the way through advanced students (ages 5 – adult). You don’t need to know anything about music or your instrument to start. We will take you from square one and teach you to read and play music. All you need is the desire to start playing! Our lessons are also ideal for children who would like to play drums, guitar, violin, etc. in band class, since many schools require a minimum of two years of piano instruction in order to cement the basics of rhythm and reading music.
No, a full-size keyboard is sufficient for the first year or so.
We offer our Red Carpet Student Recitals twice a year, in summer and winter. These are FREE, with no admission or participation fees. Recitals are highly recommended, but completely optional for each student.
All of our teachers have college degrees in music and/or extensive performance/teaching experience. We choose our instructors for their warm personalities, and their passion for music and teaching. Our teachers work well with both children and adults, and are dedicated to helping you to achieve your goals. They are friendly, patient, and strive to get to know each student and their parent on a personal level. Music is our passion, and we love sharing it with you. No two lessons are the same, because each one is centered around YOU! Our instructors will listen carefully to you and what you want to achieve, and then help you develop a plan to meet your goals. They work well with a wide array of youth and adult students with special abilities and challenges. Adaptive lessons are available for students with special needs. And with multiple teachers for each instrument, we have the right fit for your musical journey!
“Our teacher has passed his passion and love for music onto my daughter… I cannot believe I don’t have to “tell her” to practice. LAM feels like an extended family and we are so thankful to all of you for being fantastic role models while sharing your love of music with our daughter.”
