About Orlando
Orlando, a native of Montgomery, Alabama, is an experienced choral conductor, pianist, and organist residing in Houston, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education in Choral Conducting from the University of Montevallo (Montevallo, AL) and a Master of Music Education in Choral Conducting from Florida State University (Tallahassee, FL).
With over 20 years of experience teaching music in secondary school settings and churches of various denominations across Alabama, Indiana, and Texas, Orlando currently serves as the Director of Choral Activities and Lecturer of Music at the University of Houston-Downtown (Houston, TX). His passion for music extends beyond the classroom and into his community. He is the newly appointed Minister of Music at Bread of Life Baptist Church in Humble, TX, and serves as the Collaborative Pianist for the Voices of Houston Choral Ensemble.
Orlando holds professional memberships with the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Choral Directors Association, and the American Choral Directors Association.
A dedicated mentor to musicians of all ages, Orlando is passionate about sharing his love for music. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, trying new cuisines, dancing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
