About Mary Kate

“Mary Kate Hotaling, musician, educator, composer, joined Lesson on the Go in 2019. A native of New York, she has been teaching over 30 years. Mary Kate teaches piano and voice. She received her Bachelor’s of Music from The Crane School of Music, The State University of New York. She holds her Masters of Science degree from Loyola University, New Orleans. Mary Kate holds levels in Orff and Kodaly music instruction. Mary Kate has lived, taught and performed throughout the United States and Canada. She has taught classroom music at all levels, directed choral programs, Orff ensembles and small ensembles.

She has directed musicals, accompanied choirs and ensembles, led students to music competitions and directed Church music programs for adults and children. She is currently on a team of music education professionals composing and designing an early music program for Ensemble Music. When not teaching music, Mary Kate loves to perform. She is currently singing with the Houston Symphony Chorus. Past professional experience has included Rimrock Opera, Nova Center for Performing Arts, Billings Community Band, Baton Rouge Symphony Chorus, Opera Louisiane, Louisiana Philharmonic Chorale, New Orleans Opera, New Jersey Chorale, Cathedral Choral Society of Washington D.C.”
