About Enrique Hernandez
Mexico:
Enrique Hernandez, a seeker of adventure, embarked on a journey south to Michoacán in 2007 to commence his Music Studies at Las Rosas Conservatory under the tutelage of Eva Pleskova, focusing on Classical Guitar. During this transformative period, he honed his musical ensemble skills, captivating audiences across the state as a soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of San Nicolas de Hidalgo University.
Throughout his collegiate years, Enrique had the privilege of learning from esteemed musicians hailing from Mexico and beyond. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from JazzUV (Centro de estudios de Jazz) in Veracruz, delving into the world of jazz. Post-graduation, he joined the esteemed Xalli Big Band, led by Raul Gutierrez, as a guitar virtuoso. Subsequently, Enrique’s talents expanded as he contributed his musical arrangements to two additional orchestras.
USA:
Returning to Texas, Enrique dedicated himself to serving various shelters along the border in South Texas. Within a year, he found himself leading large groups of colleagues in recreational activities aimed at fostering children’s holistic development. His initiatives included directing a small Choir Ensemble and facilitating Songwriting workshops. Presently, Enrique flourishes in his role as a music instructor across academies in Houston, leveraging his diverse background in popular and folk music to craft a curriculum that seamlessly integrates theoretical foundations with practical skills.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Enrique treasures moments with his wife, three children, and their loyal three-legged companion, Creta. As an instructor, his paramount goal is to ensure that each student acquires the precise skill set needed to realize their musical aspirations.
