About Julia Evans
Julia Evans, a violinist from New York City, completed her Undergraduate degree in Violin Performance at the Mannes College of Music in 2002 and then her Masters in Performance at NYU in 2004. Since 2005, Mrs Evans has been an active performer in various orchestras, chamber music groups, and on Broadway. Orchestras she has performed with include the Orchestra of St Luke’s where she played at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, the American Composers Orchestra which concentrated on new compositions, the Harrisburg Symphony (PA), and the York Symphony. Some key performances were in the Orchestra of St Luke’s, where she had the privilege to perform Sir Paul McCartney’s classical Album, play Showboat at Carnegie Hall, and opera excerpts at Avery Fisher Hall with Dawn Upshaw singing. She also played on the Broadway show “Hairspray!” for two years until it closed.
