About Samantha Loomis
Samantha Loomis is an active voice teacher in the Cleveland area, offering private voice lessons and piano lessons at the Lakewood Music Academy. Samantha also directs the Children’s Choir at Westlake United Methodist Church. Samantha holds a BM in Vocal Performance from Ohio Northern University and an MM in Voice Pedagogy from the University of Southern Maine where she studied under internationally acclaimed opera singer Dr. Malinda Haslett. Samantha has studied classical, musical theatre and jazz voice. During graduate school, Samantha spent her time teaching voice and piano to a full studio from ages 6 to 70 at the Gorham School of Music. She also taught undergraduate voice lessons at the University of Southern Maine on their adjunct faculty. Samantha greatly enjoys helping students prepare for auditions, competitions and performances. Samantha believes that everyone can learn to sing and that starting young can greatly help students in their vocal development. Samantha focuses primarily on a strong technical foundation through ear training, diction, release of tension, breath management and breath support, all to be applied to repertoire.
