About Lydia Plaut
Lydia Plaut, is a violist, violinist, and educator in northeast Ohio. In 2023, she graduated from New England Conservatory in Viola Performance with a Concentration in Music-in-Education. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Suzuki Pedagogy at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She has performed around the country at summer music festivals including Madeline Island Chamber Music, Aspen Music Festival, and Heifetz International Music Institute.
From 2021-2023 she was a member of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and is currently a substitute violist with Firelands Symphony Orchestra and Akron Symphony Orchestra. She is passionate about making music accessible to all children and teaches young musicians from preschoolers to high school students in various roles including as a private teacher, group class instructor, and orchestra and chamber music coach.
