About Rodrigo Tarraza

Rodrigo Tarraza studied modern and baroque flute with Barthold Kuijken at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands. He has toured widely as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe and both North and South America. He has toured widely as soloist and chamber musician, has recorded with La Petite Bande and other prominent period-instrument groups, and has taught at numerous festivals and music schools in Europe and both North and South America. Since 1995 he has been a founding member of Les Inegales, an ensemble dedicated to European and specially French chamber music. Their CD for the German label Carpe Diem “Ordinaire de la Chambre du Roi” has been very well received by the critics.

Currently he is a member of the Folgers Consort (Washington, DC) and performs frequently with the Crescendo Orchestra, CT and the Washington Bach Consort. He is also a member of the North Carolina Baroque Orchestra (NCBO).

He is also active as a progressive rock electric guitarist with the group Dome.

Rodrigo currently teaches Flute, Saxophone and guitar at Kentlands School of Music, Gaithersburg, MD.
