About Ed Breckenfeld
Ed has spent his entire career in music! He was a founding member of The Insiders, whose late-80’s hit “Ghost On The Beach” still plays on the legendary WXRT-FM. He has also been a member of Chicago’s longest-running Irish band The Dooley’s for 25 years! Through the years, Ed has maintained a strong commitment to teaching at Musical Expressions in Naperville, and now Hix Bros. since 2005. His lessons focus on developing a strong foundation in technique, sight-reading and coordination. This is enhanced by a unique musical approach: Ed plays guitar along with his students as they learn to perform classic songs. Through this he brings to bear his years of stage and recording experience, teaching not only required drum patterns, but how and why they work in musical situations. He now tours across the country with “The Beat Goes On,” a Cher tribute show headlined by Lisa McClowry as Cher!
