Policies

Tuition

Groove House tuition is a flat fee per month. Payments are to be made before services rendered in order to keep recurring appointments reserved month to month. Payment options are as follows:

  • Credit/debit card
  • Verified checking/savings account
  • Check

*First payment must be received before the first lesson is given.

*All payments are non-refundable. In case of Groove House’s inability to provide services for the client, prorated reimbursements are guaranteed.

Membership Termination

Clients must submit written notice to the front desk, or any member of the administration team, before the 15th of the intended final month of lessons. Notifying the instructor of intention to drop the lesson does not complete the membership cancellation process. All notices to withdraw that are submitted after the 15th of the month will result in the student staying on their teacher’s schedule and being billed for an additional month. Your account will continue to be billed until your written notice to withdraw is submitted.

Cancellation Policy

Tuition is a reservation of a recurring appointment that includes lesson planning by the instructor. Due to the time demands of our faculty, make ups and rescheduled lessons are not offered. As a courtesy, we ask that students notify their instructor 24 hours in advance if they will be absent for a lesson. If advanced notice is given, the instructors can prepare for a student’s absence by assigning an equal amount of homework or delivering a video lesson. In the event that a client does not give advance notice of a cancellation and does not show up to the scheduled lesson, the lesson shall be forfeited. Students who arrive late will be granted the remainder of their lesson time.

Credits and Instructor Absence

In the case that an instructor cannot attend a lesson and no other educational substitution is mutually arranged, the cost of the missed lesson will be deducted from the next month’s tuition.

Inclement Weather Policies

In the event that inclement weather prevents lessons from taking place, Groove House reserves the right to make independent decisions regarding closures, separate from local school district closures. Groove House’s policies, which may differ from those of local districts, are designed with the safety and well-being of both students and teachers in mind. Therefore, even if a local school district does not declare a closure due to inclement weather, Groove House may still choose to close the studio. If the studio is closed, Groove House will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide students with a pre-recorded makeup lesson video from their instructor within 72 hours of the original lesson time. No refunds or discounts will be issued for lessons missed or rescheduled due to inclement weather.

Annual Term

The annual calendar runs from January to December and offers 47 weeks of lessons with at least 2 optional performance opportunities in May and December. This agreement renews annually for successive one year terms. Either party may elect not to renew this agreement by providing written notice of non-renewal to the other party at least 30 days prior to the expiration of the current term. Additionally, Groove House may terminate this aAgreement for any reason by providing you with 30 days notice prior to Groove House’s intended termination date.
