Summer Strings Methods
In this class, students will learn:
- How to use bows more musically – which parts of the bow do what, how to do basic techniques, and learn to control volume level.
- To make mind-body connections so that they can use their instruments efficiently with good technique.
- How to count and feel rhythms in their most basic forms and begin exploring intermediate patterns.
- Orchestral music and gain an understanding of how harmony works in a group setting.

- Dates: Tuesdays, 7/7 – 7/28

- Dates: Thursdays, 7/9 – 7/30
- Times: 1:30pm – 2:30pm

Meet the Instructor – Steven Madonia

Steven Madonia is a music educator who completed his undergraduate studies at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music and his graduate studies at SUNY University at Buffalo. He has conducted and organized several concerts, held seating auditions for competitive youth groups, and worked with grade levels K-12 in both general music and orchestral conducting. Steven currently teaches cello, violin, viola, and piano.
