About Steven DeBellis
Steven DeBellis is a professional drummer/percussionist based on Long Island. In Summer of 2022, Steve was selected to star as a principal cast member in Amazon Studios upcoming film: “Musica,” a rom-com drawing inspirations from “Stomp,” Brazilian Culture, and life experienced with synesthesia. Throughout his time on set, he was privileged to work alongside: Rudy Mancuso (The Flash), Camila Mendez (Riverdale), Francesca Reale (Stranger Things), JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm), and cast members from “Stomp.” Steve’s versatility as a percussionist and musician has provided him with opportunities to perform at international festivals held in: Ireland, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, China, and France. He is currently preparing for his 3rd trip to Bali, Indonesia as an active member of “Gamelan Yowana Sari.”
Nationally, Steve’s career has led him to perform at: PASIC (Percussion Arts Society International Convention), TEDx, Carnegie Hall, Colombia University, Asheville Percussion Festival, Make Music NY, The Jazz Gallery, Club Bonafide, The Blue Note, and more. Steve holds a Masters Degree in Jazz Studies/Performance from The Aaron Copeland School of Music, Queens College, and a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Long Island University.
He is a NYS certified educator and has been teaching for 10+ years. Whether interested in pursuing music as an outlet or as a potential career path, Steve’s educational background combined with his extensive/diverse performance career allows him to lead his students with confidence and success.
