
About Shiori Chazono
Shiori Chazono, bassist, pianist, composer, arranger, and piano tuner, is currently teaching at Grace Music School and Kellenberg Memorial High School. Originally from Japan, she studied at the Tokyo College of Music, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in composition. She received her B.M. from LIU Post in Music Performance and was a recipient of the Department of Music Awards for Service in Instrumental Music. She was awarded a fellowship to the LIU Post Chamber Music Festival in 2014 and 2015 in recognition of her musical talents as a bassist, arranger, and teacher. In addition, she is an arranger for many types of music and has done many arrangements for chamber music associations and TV programs, including the LIU Post String Ensemble, the Japanese TV Program, the New York Virtuosi/Kammermusik, and the Waldorf School of Garden City. She is also a pianist and works as an accompanist and keyboard player at theaters in the Long Island area.
Since 2019, she has extended her musical journey beyond performing to include piano tuning and regulation. In her free time between performing and teaching, she rescues pianos that need her help!
