About Patrick Roche
Babylon based percussionist Patrick Roche is an active performer and educator in several sides of the percussion world. As a chamber musician, Patrick has appeared with the Four as One, Avalon, and Mirage percussion quartets. Patrick was awarded first place with the Avalon Percussion Quartet in the 2018 Crane Chamber Music Competition. He has also appeared at the Onondaga Community College Day of Percussion with the same group, and with the Ithaca College Percussion Ensemble.
As an orchestral musician, Patrick has appeared with the Orchestra of Northern New York, Northern Symphonic Winds and Cayuga Chamber Orchestra. Patrick also enjoys giving back to his community through outreach programs such as library performances and instrument petting zoos.
As a soloist, Patrick placed first in the Ithaca College Concerto Competition, and subsequently performed Keiko Abe’s Prism Rhapsody with the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra. Patrick is also a proud member of the Percussive Arts Society University Students Committee, where he is a member of the publications team. He currently serves as the Adjunct Professor of Percussion at Suffolk Community College, and as a piano and percussion teacher at Grace Music Schools and the New York Musician’s Center. His teachers include Jim Petercsak, Catherine Meunier, Thomas Marceau, Sean Ritenauer and Mike Truesdell.
